The exotic mangosteen has just become available in NZ. Although a tad expensive at 18.45/kg this Malaysian fruit, sometimes referred to as ‘the Queen of tropical fruits’ has a deep reddish purple colour when ripe and its fragrant edible flesh is sweet, creamy, citrusy with a slight peach flavour.

Chokos are now available from 95c ea and also fresh cranberries (from 5.45/kg). The cranberry season is relatively short (usually lasting only a month) and this is an excellent time to offer these fresh.
