Here are some items that should be plentiful at optimal prices from most suppliers this week.

Capsicums, red available from 2.80 per kilo for grade 2, price unchanged, courgettes available from 3.45, down 1.00 from last week, kumera, red 2.95, down from 3.60 last week, pumpkin, buttercup 1.95, unchanged from last week

Seasonal produce now available

These items are in season; pricing and availability is expected to be very advantageous in the immediate future.

Quince, slightly lower availability than last year 4.45, apples, Braeburn 2.30, brussel sprouts6.80 peaches, NZ sweet corn from 0.55 each, Nashi pear 3.77, Kowiniwini potato 5.48

Going out of season or in short supply

Availability and pricing for these items is likely to be less than ideal. This may be one of the last weeks to get some of these, so order quickly if that’s what you’re after!

Stonefruit, the season is almost over for these: peaches from 4.45, nectarines 4.95, avocado – there is still a good supply but prices are rising 0.75 each up 0.10, rock melon in short supply 6.03 each, kiwifruit these will be imports until our season begins again, 5.45.
