Monthly Tip to Maximise Your Profit

Some of you may have attended the seminars provided
by the Restaurant association while attending the trade show
in Auckland. I found the one titled ‘Promotions, PR, marketing
and smart ways to get bums on seats’ to raise some interesting
points.

One of the main points raised by Judith Tabron was the benefits
from understanding your clientele. I firmly agree with Judith
that every decision in your restaurant should be made with your
clientele in mind. If you don’t know your clientele then how
can you possibly decide what items your menu should include,
let alone what prices to charge for your them!

Do you gain feedback from your diners or even know your regulars
names? How did they find out about your restaurant? Why do they
return to your restaurant? Do you know their occupation? Why
not implement a simple feedback card on the table and begin
to understand a little more about the people who make your business
generate a profit.

The site www.dineout.co.nz is a site dedicated to rating restaurants.
This is not done by bias restaurant reviewers who don’t know
the first thing about running a restaurant. This is an honest
assessment from the general public – the people you need to
know to make a living! Why not see if your restaurant is listed
and check how you rate!
