How does your kids menu fare?

With all the discussion over Jamie Oliver’s dreaded
‘turkey twizzler’ there is no doubt that parents are beginning
to look at menus a lot more closely. How would your kids menu
fare?

A competition has just been run in Christchurch to find the
best kid’s menu. The winning entry contained kebabs with dipping
sauces. Other ideas included small portions attractively arranged,
dipping and finger foods, and small vegetables like cherry tomatoes,
baby corn, and broccoli florets.

They may not all be healthy but if you can offer a ‘healthy
choice’, which is your most profitable kids meal, you could
be on to a winner – with the parents as well as the kids! MenuCoster
can help you find these items – just look for the ‘Eatwell Apple’
in the MenuGuide labels shown on every recipe. This indicates
that the item contains less than 10% fat and sugar per 100g.
